The C Gallery - "Repeat Performance!!"
" Art of Collage with Karen Browdy "
Weekend Workshop Retreat: Feb. 24,25,26
It's a retreat art lovers can dream about... Imagine being nestled into a quiet, secluded 25 acre vineyard
(Foxhound Wines) estate, Rancho Alamo Camp 1, surrounded by redwood, oak, and cypress trees. Here, the
group of 6 will retreat and eat and wine taste. We'll be creating bricolage, with "collage/assemblage guru,"
Karen Browdy. just minutes away at The C Gallery. The group stays in the 3 bedrooms on the separate wing
of the 1938 California Ranch main house, 2 to a room.
After a Friday evening progressive dinner, including an estate wine tasting, and "getting started" class,
participants will enjoy a Saturday of collage making at The C Gallery's intimate studio. Wine tasting, good
eating, and a slow pace are woven into the 4-session retreat. The final session, Sunday morning, is an informal
showing and commentary of the completed collages at an outdoor gourmet breakfast prepared by Rancho
Alamo's proprietress, Natalie Werk, a culinary artist.

Karen Browdy, mixed media artist, is represented by the John Nichols Gallery at the Santa Paula Museum of
Art, and has been a member of the art faculty at Santa Barbara City College's Continuing Education Division, in
collage, assemblage, and mixed media. She teaches in her Fillmore studio, and at the Bell Arts Studio 35. Her
award-winning work has been shown in Southern California since 1994. With a class of only 6, there will be
generous individual instruction from this "collage guru," who loves to make order from chaos.
Fee: $425/per : includes most materials, 10+ hrs. instruction, 2 nights lodging 2 in a room, all meals except
Saturday night dinner, and wine tasting incl. 805-344-3807 or connie@thecgallery.com .
